Wind and Waves

The barometer fell over night and started to climb from a low of 1007 hPa this morning.  Throughout the day, the barometer climbed slowly to 1010 hPa.  The low cloud cover  this morning dissipated to produce clear skies for most of the day.  The wind gusted to about 30 knots from the west with a small swell, calming down to 3 knots by the evening.  In the afternoon, there was a bright full rainbow in the east.

At noon there were six bald eagles at Race Rocks, two adults and four juveniles, inciting panic in the gulls each time they soared over.

There were three whale watching boats seen in the reserve in the afternoon.

Taking advantage of the solar energy feeding the batteries, the desalinator was run for most of the day to top up the fresh water cistern.  Wood that has washed ashore was collected, cut and stacked for use in the fireplace.
