wittys lagoon spit On the shoreline to the north, several concrete bulkheads are installed. On the south part of Witty's beach extensive use by the public in summer leads to trampling of sensitive sand dune stabilizing species. shoreline modification witty/trucks.jpg
On the north shore of the outlet from the lagoon, several properties have installed concrete bulkheading which interferes with the natural shore processes On the south end of Witty's beach a washroom facility was installed in the 1980's on a very sensitive backshore berm. The localized trampling of the vegetation in that area will lead to beach instability. Vehicles driving in for servicing are also a hazard.
